Edges of Grace
Photographed in 2005, Edges of Grace captures one of Miro Arva’s first encounters with photography. At the time, he was learning to observe movement and emotion through a lens — often without knowing exactly what he was searching for. The series began while watching his stepsister during skating practice, where he became fascinated by the contrast between precision and vulnerability in her gestures. Shot with a simple digital camera and no clear artistic agenda, these images reveal the beginnings of a visual curiosity that would later define Arva’s work: a focus on the human form, the tension between motion and stillness, and the quiet narratives that unfold within everyday moments. What remains is both a family memory and a record of an artist discovering how to see.
